Creswell Heroes. Lauri Thomas, School Counselor at Creswell Middle School. Lauri Thomas, a school counselor at Creswell Middle School, has been a part of the Creswell community for an incredible 32 years. Her dedication to the area goes beyond her work at the school, as she has actively participated in various community projects and volunteer efforts throughout her time in Creswell. Lauri began her teaching career with the Creswell School District in 1998, and since then, she has been involved in coaching youth sports, middle school sports, and high school volleyball. She has also volunteered with Hope Restored and played an important role in helping pass the bond that funded the construction of the new Creswell Middle School. When asked what motivated her to give so much of herself to the community, Lauri simply says, "I love the Creswell Community." Her passion for the children of Creswell drives her, and it is clear that the youth of the town inspire her to continue her work. Even as she prepares for retirement, Lauri remains committed to serving the community’s youth in whatever way she can.Though Lauri prefers not to focus on the impact of her work, her contributions have undoubtedly made a difference. As she looks ahead to her retirement, Lauri plans to continue supporting the young people of Creswell in any capacity she is needed, leaving a lasting positive impact on the community.
