With the sunny weather returning, we are anticipating an uptick in dogs at large. Here is the process that the City of Creswell follows when a dog is placed in our custody. If you have any questions, please contact Creswell City Hall at 541-895-2531.

What happens when the City finds a lost dog? City staff work hard to locate the dog’s owner by checking our licensing system and seeing if the dog has a chip. The City feeds and looks after the dog until the owner comes to claim the dog or up to 72 hours, whichever comes first. If the dog is not claimed by its owner within 72 hours, it is taken to Greenhill Humane Society in Eugene.
Happy Thursday, Creswell! Today Paisley wants to remind all of Creswell to check the temperatures outside before walking the dog. You might just keep your furry friend's paws from getting burnt!
12 months ago, Paisley
Paisley's Ponderings. Watch Those Paws! As the weather gets warmer, it is super important to check the temperature before taking your dog on a walk! How will you know if the sidewalks are too warm? If it is too hot to have your hand on it for 7 seconds, it is too hot for your dog’s paws!

Creswell City Manager Recruitment Update. On May 12 and 13, 2025, the Mayor and City Council conducted interviews to consider four finalists to serve as Creswell’s next City Manager. The interview process included three separate interview panels (community stakeholders, local government managers, and a staff panel). Meet & Greets with the four candidates were held for City employees and the general public. The Mayor and Council interviewed the candidates on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, and following the interviews, reviewed reports from the panels and the Meet & Greets and discussed the interviews that were conducted by the City Council. Following this process, Vincent Martorello was offered the position of City Manager, subject to completion of a background check and negotiation of an employment agreement. The City Council met again on May 20, 2025, to review the final background checks and opted to proceed with negotiations of an employment agreement with Mr. Martorello. Vincent Martorello is currently Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Martorello previously worked as Superintendent of the Willamalane Park and Recreation District and at Oregon State University as Director of Facilities Services. Negotiations are currently underway for an employment contract. It is anticipated that Martorello will begin service as City Manager in July of 2025.
