2024 CHIP SEAL PROJECT UPDATE. The City of Creswell will be conducting a chip sealing of Creswood (up to the 500 block), North 2nd Street, and East Gilfry Avenue. This project will begin on September 13th, 2024 and is expected to conclude by September 24th, 2024. Those that are driving in the area should expect traffic delays and be on the lookout for construction vehicles, flaggers, and people at work. City Council Meeting Recap. August 12th, 2024.
Opening/Pledge of Allegience. Council President Costilla called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Councilors Smith, Clark, and Mayor Stram excused. Councilor Osborn attended via phone.. Mayor’s Report: Council President Costilla shared that Mayor Stram asked that he announce that the city will be placing draft minutes on the city's webpage until such time as the respective committee can meet and approve the minutes. Consent Calendar: Councilor Holt moved that the minutes be approved as amended. The motion was seconded by Councilor Kent. The council voted 4-0 and the motion passed.
Lane County Sheriff Report. Deputy Dills presented the report in place of Sergeant Speldrich. Councilor Kent asked about the numbers of homeless in Creswell - it remains about the same from month to month. Councilor Kent also inquired whether any citations had been issued to the homeless and Deputy Dills responded that there have been citations issued. Councilor Holt asked for clarification of what self initiated activity means. Deputy Dills clarified that Self Initiated Activity is police activity initiated by the officers themselves, not a call for service. The Deputy also answered questions on person crimes. Council Action Items. Program to correct treatment plant issues listed in MOA (No Action Required) LOC 2025/26 Legislative Priorities: Councilor Holt moved to approve. The motion was seconded by Councilor Kent. The  council voted 4-0 and the motion passed.
Council Action Items (Continued). Approval of Food Truck Ordinance: Councilor Holt moved to approve Ordinance 561. The motion was seconded by Councilor Kent. The council voted 4-0 and the motion passed. Councilor Kent moved to adopt Resolution 2024-23 (which sets the rates for Food Truck permits). The motion was seconded by Councilor Holt. The council voted 4-0 and the motion passed. Adjournment. Council President Costilla closed the meeting at 6:31 pm.
