THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PORTLAND HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG WARNING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM PDT THIS EVENING. * AFFECTED AREA...IN OREGON, FIRE WEATHER ZONE 685 COVERING THESOUTHERN WILLAMETTE VALLEY. * WINDS...NORTH 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AS LOW AS 15 PERCENT. * IMPACTS...CONDITIONS MAY BE FAVORABLE FOR RAPID FIRE SPREAD WHICH MAY THREATEN LIFE AND PROPERTY. Residents that have underground sprinkler systems are required to have their backflow assembly systems tested and have the results turned in to City Hall by September 15th, 2024. 4 Steps to Pool Safety Over the 4th of July. 1: ALways watch children in and around the water and designate an Adult Water Watcher. 2: Teach kids to swim. 3: Teach kids to stay away from drains in the pool and make sure all drain covers are VGB compliant. 4: Make sure your pool has layers of protection, such as a four sided fence with a self closing self latching gate, alarms, and a proper cover.
