Notice is hereby given that The Creswell City Council will hold a public hearing on March 10, 2025, at 6:00 pm to discuss updates to the Transportation System Plan, including new pedestrian crossings near Creslane Elementary & I-5 ramp improvements.

Public Hearing Notice. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Creswell City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 6:00pm in order to hear the following: Case No. PA-2025-01, initiated by the City of Creswell to amend the Creswell Transportation System Plan. The Transportation System Plan Amendment will add (2) pedestrian, ADA compliant, crossings in front of Creslane Elementary School, per the Safe Routes to School Recommendations, and will amend the project recommendation for the I-5 Northbound Ramp at Cloverdale Road, per and updated safety and vehicle operations analysis. The long term recommendation is to install a traffic signal or roundabout. The proposal will be reviewed subject to the following sections of the Creswell Development Code: Section 4.1.500 Type IV (Legislative) Review. Interested persons can offer their respective comments by attending the meeting, and/or written comments can be submitted to the City Council through the City Planner, in the following manner: 1. Personally delivered to the drop box at Creswell City Hall at 13 South 1st Street; 2. Mailed to Creswell City Hall, P.O. Box 276, Creswell, Oregon 97426; 3. Faxed to (541) 895-3647; 4. E-mailed to cthomas@creswell-or.us. Written comments must be submitted at least two (2) hours prior to the hearing. A copy of the staff report, draft findings of fact, and related documents can be reviewed electronically free-of-charge, provided by Staff during business hours between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; or they may be printed at the expense ($0.25 per page) of the person wishing to obtain copies, one week prior to the public hearing date. The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding legislative amendments. Failure to raise an issue, in person or by written comment, at the Planning Commission or City Council hearing, or failure to provide statements or evidence related to an issue, precludes reliance on that issue in any later appeal of the decision, which is made after consideration of statements and evidence submitted, including an appeal to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals

Description: The City of Creswell, Oregon is seeking its next City Manager who will administer a staff of 21 and a city budget of $14.7 million. The city seeks an individual who will lead the City Administration in a transparent, accountable and ethical manner. The preferred candidate will be familiar with municipal budgeting, grants, and finance, and have a good understanding of project management, public works and emergency management. The successful candidate will be able to manage all aspects of human resources including recruitment, retention and termination of employment. The City Manager will promote cooperation among the Council, staff, and citizens in developing City policies, and building a sense of community. The City Manager will be proficient in facilitating public meetings and collaborating effectively with the City Council. Creswell Heroes. Steve Carmichael, Vice President of Creswell First! Steve Carmichael, a retired Director of Juvenile Justice Services for Lane County, has spent the past decade making a significant impact on the Creswell community through public service, local projects, and volunteer efforts. His involvement began in 2012 when he supported his friend, Dave Stram, in his successful mayoral campaign. Carmichael helped organize the campaign and continued to offer guidance during re-election. Inspired by his experience as past-president of United Way of Lane County, he helped establish Creswell First in 2016, the town’s community foundation. As the foundation’s first Board Chairman, Carmichael played a key role in raising over $100,000 for local organizations and launching the "One Stop Giving Program," which has raised more than $35,000 for community causes. Carmichael also led a men’s Bible Study Fellowship group at Creswell Presbyterian Church, which he describes as a deeply meaningful part of his life. One of his proudest achievements is the transformation of the original Creswell Schoolhouse into a community meeting center, which now serves as an affordable venue for local events. Carmichael’s work reflects his commitment to fostering a collaborative, caring community. “I feel privileged to live in Creswell,” he says, and his contributions will continue to benefit the town for years to come.
Congratulations are in order for Creswell's newest City Councilor, Alan Dukes! Councilor Dukes took the Oath of Office at the February 24th, 2025, City Council Work Session and is filling the vacancy created when Nick Smith left his councilor position to take on the mayor role.
