City Council Meeting Recap January 13th, 2025. At the Creswell City Council meeting on January 13, 2025, new council members and a new mayor were sworn in, including Mark Kremer, Joan Morris, Clark Kent, and Mayor Nick Smith. They took an oath to serve with honesty and integrity. Outgoing officials, including Mayor Dave Stram, Councilor Normajean Osborne, and Councilor Shelly Clark were recognized for their service. The council discussed a public safety issue raised by Ryan Larue about speeding near schools and suggested ways to improve safety. The council also went over committee appointments for the year, including those for the Water Rate Advisory Committee, Public Safety Committee, and others. The council approved a $280,500 contract for sewer work on Second Street, discussed a grant for new restrooms at Second Street Park, and reviewed a project to improve the city's water tanks by annexing properties to streamline the permitting process. They also planned to fill the vacancy left by Councilor Nick Smith's resignation by February 2025. The meeting ended with a reminder to visit the city website for information on upcoming meetings, with an emphasis on transparency and public participation. The meeting was adjourned.

Thunderstorms can escalate quickly. Clear skies can quickly turn dark and ominous, whether due to pop up thunderstorms or squall lines. Be prepared! Set up a way to get weather warnings on your phone. When alerted to a storm, get inside a sturdy building immediately. Stay away from windows once indoors. If a building isn't nearby, get inside a vehicle.

Do you know what the City of Creswell's process is for lost and found dogs? Here's a quick summary! If you have any questions, please contact City Hall at 541-895-2531.
4 months ago, Creswell Admin
What happens when the City finds a lost dog? City staff work hard to locate the dog’s owner by checking our licensing system and seeing if the dog has a chip. The City feeds and looks after the dog until the owner comes to claim the dog or up to 72 hours, whichever comes first. If the dog is not claimed by its owner within 72 hours, it is taken to Greenhill Humane Society in Eugene.
