Burning Questions? Contact LRAPA. The Lane Regional Air Protection Agency (LRAPA) is responsible for overseeing burning programs in Lane County. Burning rules vary throughout Lane County depending on location, size of property, weather forecast, and fire danger conditions. Creswell Heroes. Joel Higdon, Creswell School District's Director of Technology Services & Facilities.  Joel Higdon has dedicated his life to improving  Creswell, both professionally and through  community service. As the Director of  Technology Services & Facilities for Creswell  School District, he plays a key role in maintaining  the district's infrastructure. However, his  contributions extend far beyond his work in  education. A lifelong resident of Creswell,  Higdon’s family has been part of the community for over a century, motivating his long-standing commitment to public service. He’s served in numerous leadership roles, including three terms on the South Lane County Fire and Rescue Board, the Creswell Rural Fire Protection District Board, and a term on the City of Creswell's Park & Tree Advisory Board. His leadership with the Creswell Chamber of Commerce helped expand the town’s Fourth of July celebration and fireworks show. Higdon also played a key role in improving fire and life safety in the community, securing modern equipment for local fire stations. As a founding member of Creswell First, the local community foundation, he’s supported outreach and local initiatives. His dedication to Creswell is inspired by his family and a deep-rooted desire to make the community a better place for future generations. He plans to increase his involvement after retirement and encourages others to contribute to the community as well.
